Faith

What does faith mean to you? To me, it means to believing in God's grace, which comes from Jesus' crucifixion. Christ died not just for my sins, but also for the sins of the entire world. The people who acknowledge this ultimate sacrifice will be saved and live knowing that God is always there for them even after they die.

Faith is trusting and knowing what you want for yourself. It's realizing how much you believe in yourself and remembering that you have what it takes to get through any obstacles that stand in your way. It's standing firm in your own merits and doing whatever it takes to see the end results.

Faith is something that only you can decide to have. Everybody is different and wants to live their own lives. So whether if your faith comes from a higher power or just your own confidence/optimism, it's still something that we have and should always hold onto. Faith is what keeps us strong and eager; it's what makes us want to reach towards success.

I love Peter Hollens

Stumbling across Peter Hollens' music is one of the best things that's happened to me. It has helped me to form to great friendships here online, which I never thought was possible. But alas, this post isn't about his lovely fan base- it's about the man himself :)

I just want to start out with saying that even though I've never met Peter face-to-face, I can definitely say that he is the sweetest young man that I've come across on YouTube. So genuine, funny, and down-to-earth. I can just sense all of that when I hear him talk at the end of his videos. Not only that, but the fact that he loves hearing from his fans just makes things even more awesome. He cares about what we think of his music and will respond the best he can to the comments that people leave on his videos. What more can you want from that?

His music is something that I haven't grown tired of. Every new video that he puts out gets me so excited. Peter puts so much effort not only into his videos, but also into his own vocal ability. All tracks are produced by himself, using nothing but his voice- but of course, he'll sometimes use his body for percussion noises. It must take hours for him to get all the vocal tracks to sound right and fit together correctly; one wrong note could mess up the entire song he's singing. As they say, practice makes perfect, and I believe that all of the practice that Peter has done is paying off well.

Now, Peter's videos are getting financial support through Patreon. You can give as little or as much as you want, starting at $1. I'm not signed up, but if you are looking to further help out and support independent musicians on YouTube, Patreon is definitely a great way to help with the benefit of good, quality videos. I haven't been part of the #hollensfamily for that long (that's the name of Peter's fan base), but I can just tell how far he's come since those early videos on his channel. It really is amazing what he does, and for such a large following. Some may say that he's not that well known like Lady Gaga or Justin Bieber, but just take a look at how many people are subscribed to his channel. That's bound to grow with the way Peter is running things. He takes song requests from his fans and will create videos that may or may not do the original song justice. Whether if you're pleased with the outcome or not, you've got to admire his efforts and the fact that Peter took the the time to listen to you. Not many singers on YouTube will do that.

So in conclusion, I'd like to personally say to you, Peter, just how awesome and amazing you are for doing what you do in creating music that people will enjoy and share with others. Thank you so much for caring for your fans and letting us be part of this musical journey that you're on. Keep that smile on and I can't wait to see what's next in store for you! :)
