YouTube Spotlight: Jonathan Young

I haven't been following Jonathan for as long as I've followed Peter Hollens, but Jon's content is just as amazing and is of top-notch quality. People say he is YouTube's best Disney villain and I'd say that's a pretty worthy title to give him. The reason why he's called that is because he makes metal/rock covers of Disney songs and let me just say, they're pretty epic. You just have to witness it yourself to understand why I love his music so much. Link to his channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC40gs0opj389ohjLnJIAJzA

Now of course, like most YouTubers these days, Patreon has become the another source of income for them in order to keep up a steady flow of good, quality content. But please, don't make yourself feel obligated to help out Jon or anyone else if you can't afford to do so. Link: https://www.patreon.com/jonathanyoung.

Before I even came across Jon's channel, I never considered myself to be much of a fan of metal or rock music, but that's starting to slowly change for me. The way he incorporates different elements of rock, metal, pop-punk or other sub-genres is done in a way that's tasteful, so you don't need to worry about any of his covers sounding like a stereotypical "screamo" track. And let's just be honest here, who doesn't like Disney? Nearly everybody does, so this should be a win-win situation. But even then, Jonathan knows how to please his audience and cover songs that most people enjoy, so there's no shortage of variety here.

I obviously haven't met Jon in person yet, but based on the short conversations I've had with him on his Discord server, I can tell that he has this charismatic charm about him that's hard to resist. He also has a good sense of humor and just seems to be very honest with who he says he is. Now I hope no one takes offense to this, but most people on YouTube these days just seem to be very fake and only show one side of their personality on camera. Jonathan, however, doesn't give off any sign of dishonesty in his being and that's something that I very much appreciate. I also like how he seems more approachable than other people on YouTube, and I suspect he wouldn't treat me differently if I were to meet him in person. This is something that I myself try to strive for whenever I go out in public despite my shy and reserved nature.

So to wrap this up, I just want to say thank you to Jon for putting out great, quality content and being consistent in its quality especially. Your hard work never goes unnoticed to me and I greatly appreciate everything you're doing! Keep up the great work and rock on! :D
