Faith is built upon strength, optimism, courage and confidence. Any amount of faith you have will help you to achieve any goals you have in life. And while this may be cliché to say, believing in yourself really is important. If you doubt yourself, then you won't get very far in life.
Faith from a Christian perspective is similar in some ways, but it's also different. The thing with Christian faith is that while God is the higher power and is given all the glory, you still have some of your own inner strength and optimism. It's kind of a give and take situation: God has this ability to somehow give His power to his disciples. His strength is manifested into the human heart and in turn, the believer gives his/her heart to Him. The believer takes His strength while God takes the believer's heart, and the cycle continues.
Have you noticed that people who are Christians say that they can't physically or logically prove why God or Jesus exists? The reason for that is because all that belief is being generated from the heart and soul. Our hearts may just be organs in our bodies, but it is also a muscle that is connected to the brain. When a person experiences love, sadness or anger, that feeling is processed from the brain to the heart.
Some of the feelings a human experiences just can't be perfectly explained; you just have to experience it for yourself. And while some of the most logical people will try with all their power to come up with an explanation, words can't always do a feeling justice.
So the next time you try arguing with a person who speaks from the heart, consider what has been said here. Some things in life just can't be explained or justified with words. Also remember that faith is something that you can choose to have, and if you have enough faith in yourself, then you can do whatever you set your mind to.
